Sexy Short Hairstyles

Sexy Short Hairstyles
Are you the type that loves to be on-trend and wearing “the style” of the season? If so, you’ve come to the right place! Take a peep at these chic cuts and sexy styles that are THE hottest haircuts RIGHT now. We know you’ll find inspiration for your next trip to the salon here.

Short, Textured Bob Works best for: Thicker hair.
What to ask for: A short bob with razor-cut layers.

How-to:
Spray on a volumizing product at the roots, then blow-dry the roots, using a round brush. Blow hair straight forward from the crown—don’t part it yet as you normally would—giving the roots lift and volume before sweeping the bangs to the side you prefer. Use a flat brush to blow the hair at the sides so it falls smoothly and sleekly.

Easy Swept-Back Hair

How-tos for this look:
For a simple off-the-face sweep, start with a strong-hold setting spray at the roots. Blow hair straight back, raking fingers through hair to keep it piecey. Finish with a little wax to give hair definition: Apply a small amount to the fingertips of one hand, rub together with the opposite, and run though your hair.

Layered Bob

Works best for: Finer hair, especially with some natural texture.

What to ask for: Multiple layers that “round in” to create shape and movement.

How-to:
Apply a strong-hold setting spray at the roots. Using a round brush, blow out hair, lifting it at the roots to create volume. With a 1¼-inch flat iron, work from the middle of the hair shafts down to flip up hair ends all around the head.

Tousled Pixie Cut

Works best for: Slightly wavy medium-fine hair.

What to ask for: Layers that are longer on top and not cut uniformly all around.

How-to: Even women with natural texture can sport a pixie if the cut works with their waves, as this haircut created by Cutler/Redken Salon’s David Kastin does. Here, the longer layers at the crown enhance the waves, so the style feels as effortless as it is: Simply muss the hair, lifting up at the roots with your fingers, as you blow-dry it. Smooth out the bangs with a flat brush, then apply a dab of matte paste to your hands, rub them together, and run though your hair for hold and definition.

Short and Sleek

How-to: Part damp hair on one side above the arch of the eyebrow. Apply a dab of gelatine product and comb through around the head. Comb the sides straight back, and finish with a glossing spray to hold: a two-minute look that will work equally well after the beach or for an evening out.

This blunt cut works well for those who want the polished look of a classic bob with a modern, slightly more casual feel. A longer bob falls somewhere between the chin and shoulder length, and this blunt cut can be done with or without bangs.

Do you love this spring long bob hairstyle? If you like it, and you can style this beautiful hair style by your self. You can use a large paddle brush (not a rounded bristle brush) as your dry your hair, and make sure you’re using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner if your hair is fine so that the final style won’t look dull and limp. A flatiron is optional if you want a stick-straight look, but a long bob is perfect for working with the natural wave or curl in your hair. Current Fashion Trends: Fall/Winter 2010

Color Trends for 2010 winter

Colors seen on the Catwalk reflect the tough Economic times so you'll see lots of dark, deep and nature-inspired colors.

Let's check them out:

  • Black
  • Grey: from earthy-grey tints to light grey tones sparkly metallic
  • Cream
  • Brown: tan, beige
  • Red: Crimson red to burgundy
  • Orange: Burnt Sienna, deep orange
  • Blue: electric blue, mint blue, dark navy blue, teal blue

I don't really like stating that you should wear this and this color to stay trendy. Some colors just don't look good on some skin complexions and others might not find specific colors appealing. If you've reviewed my F/W fashion essentials you probably know that you can never go wrong with black, brown, gray, red, purple and mustard yellow for fall/winter.

How to wear the colors:

Wear them as your key piece clothing; as a black turtleneck sweater, grey chunky cardigan, orange floral blouse or a dress, and balance it with a pair of classic dark blue or black jeans. Luckily, the color trend for fall/winter fashion 2009 are subtle enough to wear to work.

If you want to get the most out of your fall/winter fashion 2009-10 wardrobe budget, you might want to focus on buying accessories in those colors, such as a knit scarf in burnt sienna (orange), beaded jewelry in teal or a suede bag in tan brown.

If you want a more exotic look, accompany the color tones with gold or silver jewelry. The metallic shine remarkably accentuates the beauty in the colors.
